My father in law was stationed in okinawa in the mid 90s and he still raves about it

I think we're gonna do a japan trip in a couple years and try to hit the areas between like osaka sapporo over a few weeks

Also if its like legit from sweden I cant help much but if we're talking midwestern lutheran types as I understand it its mostly drunk driving and self loathing

One of my very good friends from college is from/lives in milwaukee and thats like 80% of the people there as I understand it

Study abroad was an unbelievable experience for me though. I did mine in geneva and our program gave us a free swissrail pass and I abused the hell out of it. Probably lost the sbb thousands if not tens of thousands in a few months span

I'm just going back to Japan because it'd be easier

yeah I mean if you can swing a study abroad in japan thats a no brainer, especially if you have connections over there

like the big thing I got out of it was the cultural immersion, I got a good crash course in french and by the time I left I felt like I went from zero knowledge to being able to at least have a basic conversation
