Okay so funny story for yall from my week at work (in case yall wonder what Gem gets up to while she’s gone) I’ve quite honestly been low key casually raging about my time being wasted it’s funny now but I was pissed yesterday

So I register individuals on my caseload for these things called MAAS assessments which asks a bunch of questions and assigns you a # 1-5 and that helps determine how “in need” people are of services like fully staffed 24/7 housing because we have individuals w mild disabilities and we have folks who are bed ridden and need 24/7 medical care and all in between so some will get a one and some will get a 5. that’s the context!

Okay so I have an individual needing an assessment and I put in the wrong ID # for one of my people instead of like 159 I put 158

Okay so the lady from the MAAS team who reminds me when people’s old assessments are expiring was like “hey, did you make an error?” And I was like hey yeah sorry

And she said no problem I’ll let the assessor know

The assessor emails me later, hey I noticed for Gayla that you have the wrong ID# is this a mistake I need to correct?

I said hey yeah and btw her name is Gayle

And I put it like “I don’t have a Gayla on my caseload I have Gayle on my caseload, thanks for catching the ID# mistake let’s fix it I’m super appreciative”

Instead of fixing it and moving on so she has it right on her end for the upcoming assessment she emails me back “I’m confused, you said in your email you have Gayle on your caseload not Gayla” and she goes “but in the system it says Gayla is your individual her sister is: … and you’re her support coordinator”

And I just…I lost all my brain cells ngl

So I had to think about how to email her back without insulting her

So I just said: My individual is Gayle, here’s her ID number. I clarified I don’t have a Gayla on my caseload to make the distinction

She has not emailed me back thank god

But I was low key really mad like this is a complete waste of my time

Im laughing now because like I can’t make this shit up 😂

But at the time I was like all you had to do was read, like I get my original mistake was confusing, but now she’s just not reading the system and I can’t fix that 😭

And it doesn’t help that I’m not feeling well because it’s taking me extra time to get work done right now and being derailed that badly just threw me all off 😂
