The issue with Boston is that it's both transient and townie, so people are quick to leave while also being incredibly cliquey.
we're also a post-heteronormative city which, while it's great for gay rights, sucks for gay community because we have no real gay district. We're accepted at any bar. The closest we have is Dorchester and it's still not exactly a gay district
