one of my picks was selected due to getting screwed over by a twist. he was faced with a very uphill premerge and handled it with grace and was slated to make it very far into the game! he got unlucky by the safety chain twist based on who started said chain and was forced into retirement much earlier than anticipated

speaking of players forced into retirement.... this player was, well, forced into retirement WAAYYYY too early from honestly i think what could now dethrone the wall tribal (s9) as the craziest in the series. a whole season passed since then and i'm still trying to figure out what the fuck happened and how this came to be in the first place.

so with that....

one of these eliminations was a few days coming but i was in the "denial" stage of grief before the loss even happened - a player from our most recent season brought back after her personality and charm were just too much to ignore, to then have a sub-optimal second run and was seen as almost like a sacrifice before the merge had even really hit

the other one was loowwwkeeeyyy a walk? but we still went through with tribal. this player was known to pull the fake "vote me out" stunt back in the glory days, i was half-expecting and full-hoping that this was another iteration of that but unfortunately he was just... tapped out, and it hurt like hell to watch

this player never had evil intent, and would often times find herself at the butt end of blindsides, brutally

she played a scrappy game and fought tooth and nail to avenge her allies in heroic fashion, but on paper / narratively was more-so a villain due to gameplay and being the foil to the season's hero!

i was informed on who this person was preseason

the man who caused carolyn fucking wiger to sink into her own eyeliner and need a moment

someone who i was prepared to come into this game, raise hell, and get voted out

this was also a man who came into the game wanting to grow as a person, learn how to form meaningful friendships, learn about the world, and improve as a player

he embraced the chaos for many rounds but

he found himself genuinely loving the people he was playing with and gaining control over the game

unfortunately, the meaningful connections he made and certain incidents caused him to feel the need to lay on his sword at the merge

you guys know how rankdown brained i get when judging characters and

this guy

has one of the very best prejury arcs from anyone i've ever seen, to put an org player on the caliber of top 100 survivor characters is borderline unfathomable to me

came back to play for a record-setting fifth time, had ups and downs throughout his journey, but was able to make a deep run once again, showing his dedication, resistance and consistency

the one running the show between the power duo of the season, she came back to prove she could hold her own in the fiovivor dungeons without the help of her boyfriend, and my god did she blow our expectations out of the park
